Hole House Self Catering Accommodation
Beatrix Potter once lived in the cottage which dates from the 17th century and is now owned by The National Trust. The farmhouse overlooks Blelham Tarn. This is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
This peaceful location is ideal for bird watching and fishing as well as walking.
Walkers can enjoy the five footpaths that meet at the farm entrance.

Information
- Payment - a £100 deposit is required and all balances are to be paid four weeks prior to arrival. Payment can be made either by cheque (made payable to Mrs C Irvine) or credit/debit card.
- Keys - the keys for the cottage will be left in the front door, follow the directions on the brouchure until you reach the bottom of the hill (where you turn left for farmhouse) carry on straight down the little lane past the national trust sign which says 'hole house no public right of way'
- Departure/arrival time - the cottage is available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and departures are 10.00am on the morning of departure unless otherwise arranged.
- Dogs - whilst we welcome dogs staying, a maximum of two are allowed for which there is a small charge. We ask that they are not left in the property alone and that they respect the environment around them as we are a working farm and do lamb sheep around April.
- Milk - the milkman calls every day (except sunday during Nov–Easter) and we do provide a pint of semi-skimmed for your arrival. If you wish any further orders these can be telephoned prior to your arrival.
- Linen/towels - all linen,towels,tea towels and dishcloths are provided. One bath and one hand towel per person.
- Cot - a travel cot is located in the cupboard in the first bedroom. Please fetch your own bedding. And a high chair is downstairs in the utility.
- Heating - the cottage has a open fire which we provide logs and coal for and storage heaters downstairs. Upstairs are plug in oil filled radiators. All electric is included in the price.
- Kitchen - the kitchen is equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave and electric cooker.
